Privacy

We don't store your data. Here's exactly what happens when you use the site.

Last updated 26 October 2026

The short version

  • We don't keep a database of visitors, trips or messages.
  • The checker works on your device. Your passport details, trips and answers are never sent to us.
  • If you send us a message or report a mistake, it's emailed straight to us and not stored on the site.
  • There are no adverts and no cookies.

The checker

Everything you enter in the checker (your passport, its dates, your trips and your answers to questions) is worked out in your browser. None of it is sent to us.

So you can come back to your trip, your browser keeps it in local storage on your device, and it appears in the page address after the # sign, which browsers don't send to websites. You can delete it at any time with "Clear my details" on the results page, or by clearing your browser's data for this site.

Messages and reports

When you use "Report something wrong" or the contact form, your message, the page you were on and the rule it's about are emailed to us using our email provider, Resend. If you add your email address, it's included so we can reply. Nothing is saved on the website. We use your message only to check and fix rules, and to reply to you.

Hosting

The site is hosted by Cloudflare. Like every web host, Cloudflare handles your IP address and basic technical details to deliver pages and protect the site from attacks. We don't receive or keep this information.

Analytics

We count visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics. It doesn't use cookies, doesn't track you across websites and doesn't give us anything that identifies you.

Adverts

There are no adverts at the moment. If we add them, we'll update this page first, and ask for your consent before any advertising cookies are used where the law requires it.

Your rights

Because we don't hold personal data about you, there's normally nothing for us to give you, correct or delete. If you've emailed us and want that message deleted, tell us and we will. In the UK you can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk). We don't sell or share personal information.

Children

The site is meant for adults planning travel.

Changes to this policy

If anything here changes, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
