Things that could change this
- Are you taking any medicines with you, including cold, flu, allergy or pain remedies? If yes: Some medicines need approval before you flyMedicines with controlled substances need approval from Singapore's Health Sciences Authority (HSA). Apply online at least 2 weeks before you arrive. They include codeine, dextromethorphan (in some cough medicines), diazepam, zolpidem, methylphenidate, modafinil and amphetamines such as Adderall. Other prescribed medicines need no approval for up to 3 months' supply: carry your prescription or a doctor's letter and keep them in the labelled packs. Cannabis medicines (including CBD), and nicotine gum or patches bought outside Singapore, aren't allowed at all.
- Are you taking a vape or e-cigarette?If yes: Leave your vape at homeVapes, e-cigarettes and their refills are banned in Singapore, even in the airport transit area. If you're caught with one, it's taken off you and you're fined. Visitors caught a second time are banned from coming back. Vapes containing etomidate can mean deportation, a fine of up to S$20,000 or prison.
Good to know
No stamp: your e-Pass comes by email. All visitors can use the automated lanes at Changi without registering. Your iris, face and fingerprints are scanned when you arrive and leave. You don't get a passport stamp: your e-Pass is emailed to the address on your arrival card and shows your last day. Overstaying can mean a fine, prison or caning.
Fake arrival card sites. The SG Arrival Card is free on the official site, eservices.ica.gov.sg/sgarrivalcard, and in the MyICA app. ICA has named more than 60 websites that charge for it. Official ICA addresses always contain ica.gov.sg.
Airlines can refuse to fly you. Since 30 January 2026, ICA can tell airlines not to let you board a flight to Singapore if you don't meet the entry rules, for example if your passport has less than 6 months left. At the border you may be asked for a ticket out and proof you have enough money for your stay.
Drug laws are severe. Drug offences carry very heavy penalties in Singapore, including caning and, for trafficking, the death penalty. Officers can test you for drugs when you arrive, even in transit. Don't bring any cannabis products, including CBD.
